    Dear Friends:
    
    Algeria Watch International wishes to express its full support
    for the planned mission to Algeria by the European Union "Troika"
    ministerial delegation.  We hope that this positive first
    initiative will be followed by similar steps and we strongly urge
    the delegation to do its utmost to shed light on the circumstances
    behind the horrific massacres that continue to take place in Algeria
    on a daily basis. Algeria Watch International applauds any effort,
    however small, that may contribute to solving the crisis in
    Algeria and to alleviating the suffering of the Algerian people.
